Trending: Kaleidoscope Gems
There’s a colorful new inspiration in jewelry: the kaleidoscope. Angular gems in a rainbow of vivid colors form beautiful patterns to delight the eye. It’s a joyful take on the jagged jewelry silhouettes that have dominated design for the past few seasons. The palette is happy and bright in clashing colors but the overall effect is harmonious, with balance and energy. Like the Egyptian and Tiara trend, triangular gems are part of the puzzle. These jewels can be worn alone, with black or white or piled on with bright colors. Unlike the rainbow spectrum jewels of the past, they have a fresh post-modern and urban edge.

Great post with wonderful content and photos. I’m glad to see that kaleidoscope gems are trending.
Great Collection of Infographics…But I guess it’s not real stones right?? I am Love of Lapis Jewelry and Gemstone…
Hi Cheryl,
Just came across your work. Stunning jewelry and great content. I especially love this trend of Kaleidoscope Gems. Its great because one you pick the colors that fits their personality and comfort. But my only concern is the these jewels look more like artificial jewelry. Do you agree? Works only if they are well made like Entrechant Earrings by Ruifie, with combination of diamonds and gemstones.
Thanks for all the great photos, true inspiration.
Kaleidoscope gems are a trend right now, and they are definitely unique. However, they can also be elegant and a great accessory. The goal is to buy the piece that reflects your own style the best.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures of the kaleidoscope gems!! This is a trend I hope never goes out of style. My favorites are the black opal Arunashi ring and the Granville Rebellite. Also, Aria Earrings by Stefan Hafner – what are the gems – are those fire opals?
I thought so also Kim! But they are Swarovski coated topaz, which helps to make the Aria collection more affordable.
