Cuff Love at New York Fashion Week
On the first two days of New York Fashion Week, the jewelry story was all about the necklace. On day three, the wrist had its turn in the spotlight. Cuff bracelets were the top trend of the day, with geometric sculptural bracelets often the only jewelry shown at all.
The most interesting styles were worked in wire and had a sculptural quality.
Cuffs of a different kind adorned the looks at Rachel Roy: bold ear cuffs accompanied most looks.
In other jewelry news from day three, Prabal Gurung showed a bouquet of sculpted rose rings, with thorns. The show matched the color of rings to nails and shoes.
Charlotte Ronson showed word necklaces that say “tomboy,” “gamine,” and “bookworm.” Kenneth Cole dog tags and word necklaces say “Look Good,” “Feel Good,” and “Do Good.”
But after Lanvin’s ultimate word necklaces last season, can anyone else really pull off word necklaces this season? I mean what could possibly be as cool?
