2013 SAG Awards: The Return of the Necklace
After years of bangles and drop earrings, the top jewelry trend at the SAG awards was the surprising return of the statement necklace. Sleek strapless dresses were set off with cascades of diamonds. Silhouettes evoked jewels of different eras, from twenties flapper to fifties fabulous to today’s rough and refined.
Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, and Marion Cotillard chose classic old Hollywood diamond necklaces. Helen Hunt evoked turn of the century style with an intricate diamond choker. Amanda Seyfried went long and delicate Deco. And Busy Philipps rocked a statement in oh-so-stylish boulder opal.
After significant necklaces on Jessica Alba and Amy Poehler among the best jewelry at the 2013 Golden Globes too, it seems the statement necklace is back.
The Best Necklaces at the 2013 SAG Awards
Jessica Chastain wore a diamond Harry Winston Splash Necklace from the Water Collection.
Jennifer Lawrence wore a diamond necklace by Chopard.
Marion Cotillard also wore a diamond necklace by Chopard.
Helen Hunt wore a blackened platinum choker with a vintage vibe by Neil Lane.
Busy Philipps chose a up-to-the-minute fashionable opal necklace by Irene Neuwirth.
And, in the best jewelry look of the night, Amanda Seyfried was flapper fabulous in a large carved jadeite pendant by Lorraine Schwartz: a rare long necklace length that we hope to see more of on Oscar’s red carpet.

I completely agree with you that necklaces have returned and they are back in fashion. All the pieces of necklaces shared by you in this article have proved that necklaces have truly made a comeback. Thanks for sharing this informative article with us. I had a great time reading this article.
I love the trend of the longer necklaces on the red carpet.
